Amber category examples

7001MHR Sustainability and Social Responsibility

Task: Business report – Using key themes from this module, you need to develop a sustainability and social responsibility strategy for your selected organisation. You must consider the activities carried out by your selected company and its future endeavours to help its employees, communities, and ecological environment.

Use of AI: Students must demonstrate academic integrity when using AI tools in their assessments. You can use AI for inspiration, such as generating research questions, prompts (including reflective and creative prompts), search terms, key words, or means of inspiring ideas, such as: images, short pieces of text, or quotations; planning and management, such as using AI tools to suggest a title, structure, subheadings, or themes, or to generate prompts to assist thinking through assessment structure or task management; sources and data collection, such as searching, generating, or suggesting sources; summarising and consolidating notes and sources, such as summarising sources or notes, or to consolidate notes, images, data, or other materials from multiple sources into manageable blocks or other useful document formats; and checking, such as proofreading or checking work, to generate prompts for proofreading or checking work, or to suggest improvements and feedback on work.

Acknowledging AI use is an important aspect of maintaining academic honesty. Students need to acknowledge the use of AI tools before any references or bibliography, which AI tools have been used and a brief explanation of how (can be a sentence or 2). 

7012MFH Marketing Management and Planning

Task: Part A – Using market research examine the strategic marketing activities (online or offline or both) used by your chosen business in 2024 in a chosen market (eg. UK). Prepare a critical summary of the likely goals, marketing strategies used by the organisation, tactics used to achieve the goals, the challenges and issues encountered by the firm in its implementation, and the results (1000 wds).

Part B) Draft a revised/new marketing plan for 2025 for your chosen business’s product/service in the same market. This should contain all the following elements of the SOSTAC framework but the description in each section can be brief. The situational analysis should include an internal and external environment analysis but not necessarily a full PESTLE framework (2000 wds).

Use of AI: Microsoft CoPilot is recommended for use in conducting market research about the chosen business and to compile customer centric information and data that will be helpful in producing a high quality marketing plan. AI can also be used for reviewing information critically and learning about marketing concepts taught in this module.
Other ways AI can be used are :

• Checking and proofreading work or to check work and suggest improvements.
• Summarising and consolidating notes and sources
• Analysing to find themes, patterns, or motifs in data sets.
• Presenting data in formats such as graphs, charts, tables etc.

7017AAD Graphic Design Specialist Investigation

Task: A portfolio of practical work will be assessed via verbal presentation (10mins). Students must also submit digital files of designed artwork including the original software version (or as photographs e.g 3D artefacts, / movies of artefacts) and a full copy in PDF files.

Use of AI: This assignment task is identified as an Amber AI RAG rating meaning that AI can be used to assist in the creation of your presentation work. Green category examples

7006BMS Medical Molecular Biology

Task: You will be allocated an individual topic to research and will be required to produce a 2000 word critical review.  Specific topic questions will be allocated during the 7006BMS lecture in week 1. Following allocation of your topic title in week 1 you will be asked to produce a 250 word essay plan of your topic area using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools. You will submit this to Turnitin on the 7006BMS Aula page in week 3. You will receive formative feedback for this submission in week 4. For the essay plan you will not receive a mark, this is formative feedback only.  You will then take forward this feedback to enable you to focus your research on your topic title effectively and to formulate your assessed critical review using appropriate papers and publications.

Use of AI: This assessment is classed within the GREEN category with regards to the use of AI (i.e. AI Assisted). The means that AI can be used to assist with the following aspect of your work, although you will need to indicate how AI has been used (refer to submission instructions below).

• Checking and proofreading work or check work and suggesting improvements.
• Inspiring to generate research questions to guide your presentation, prompts or search terms.
• Writing your plan for the critical review and helping you narrow down your topic.
• Planning and management to suggest a title, structure, subheadings, or themes.
• Summarising and consolidating notes and sources.
