Where students are allowed extra time, such as when they have an IEA, this can be allocated through the Monitor module. The process of adding extra time for an assessment is outlined below.
Navigate to your test in the Deliver module and under Candidates, click on the button labelled ‘View all’. This will open the Monitor module, showing just the students on your test.
- Find the students who need extra time. You search using their ID which if you have used the Aula-Inspera integration will be the first part of their email address.
- Select the radio button to the left of the student ID, this will open a menu where you will have the option to add:
- Planned extra time – this to be used where there are IEA’s and time is added before a test opens
- Incident extra time – this can be used to give students extra time once a test has opened.
Important note if using multiple attempts
Where multiple attempts are used a ‘child’ test is created for each attempt in addition to the main (parent) test. So, for example, if a test is created with 3 attempts then in the Deliver module in Inspera you will see the main test plus three child tests, called Attempt 1 …, Attempt 2 … and Attempt 3.
To add additional time for students such that it applies to all the child tests this must be given to the students before the test is activated. If the test has been activated then it will be necessary to add the extra on each of the child tests (Attempts), not on the main test.
There is also an Inspera Help Desk article on adding extra time.
