This February 2026 Inspera update provides details on the improvements and fixes made on some of the features, and some reminders to help with setting up tests for the new Blocks and Semester.

Inspera Updates

New drawing tool: Automatic save

Drawings made with the new drawing tool are now automatically saved every 30 seconds. It is important to note that this only works on tests created after this release. To enable this functionality on an already created test: deactivate it and re-add the question set.

Improved candidate view: Numbering and answered/unanswered questions

Inspera have improved the layout of the candidate view to help students see which questions are answered and unanswered. This includes where candidate selected questions, randomisation and pull have been used. Candidates can now view which questions have been answered and unanswered in the following locations:

The consistency of information between screens has also been improved to ensure that the question numbers are consistent throughout, even where randomisation or pull have been used.

Authoring Interface Update

Inspera will be updating the Author interface, where Questions and Question Sets are created, early in 2026. We do now have access to the new Author interface on our Staging tenancy, to allow it be previewed and to provide feedback. If you are interested in trying out the new interface and would be prepared to commit to providing feedback to Inspera then please complete the form below and we can then ensure you have access to preview the new interface.

Scheduling tests

Aula integration – when scheduling your summative assessment (core and applied core), it is recommended that you set up the integration link within the Assignment Block which automatically adds students into Inspera and provides grade pass back to Aula.

Naming conventions – please remember to use the required naming conventions when creating your questions and question sets and scheduling the test. These were updated in September to reflect the move to Block delivery.
- With the move to Item Banks, your assessment content will be located with other assessment content in that Item Bank. Ensuring your questions and question sets are clearly identified will therefore be essential to ensure you can easily locate them for adding to tests and reuse. If your questions and question sets are not yet clearly labelled, they will need to be updated when the content is moved across to Item Banks.
